“I’m happy to announce that I am 11 weeks pregnant,” Blanchard revealed in a YouTube video on July 9. “Ken and I are expecting our very first child come January of 2025. We’re both very excited. This was not planned at all; it was completely unexpected.” The announcement comes just over three months after Blanchard filed for divorce from ex-husband Ryan Anderson and rekindled her relationship with Urker, whom she was initially engaged to in 2018.
New Beginnings and Unexpected Surprises
Blanchard expressed her excitement about the impending arrival of their baby, emphasizing their readiness to embrace parenthood. “We’re both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood,” she said. “I’ve already experienced the symptoms. When I first learned I was pregnant, the first thing I noticed was the cravings.”
She shared that her first indication of pregnancy was an unusual craving for orange juice. “I didn’t think anything of it,” Blanchard recalled, mentioning that she had been consulting a fertility specialist for other health concerns. “When I missed my period, I thought I was having issues with ovulation.”
Life After Incarceration
Since completing her second-degree murder sentence for the 2015 death of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, Gypsy Rose has been rebuilding her life. She has openly discussed the years of abuse she endured at the hands of her mother, who suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a condition where a caregiver fabricates or induces illness in another person for attention and sympathy.
Blanchard has become a voice for others who have experienced similar abuse. “All that I can do now is put the pieces of my life back together and make myself a better person than I was when I went to prison,” she told E! News. “Try to do some good in the world.”
