Amazon S3 will now automatically encrypt all new objects added on buckets on the server side using AES-256; AWS has had server-side encryption for over a decade — Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) will now automatically encrypt all new objects added on buckets on the server side, using AES-256 by default.
